Continuing with the ground beef theme, this is one of my favorite recipes that I’ve tried out using instant pot. You can modify this recipe based on what you have in your pantry and it’s easy to put together.
Ingredients
- instant pot ground beef (about 1/2 lb per person)
- instant pot pasta sauce
- instant pot macaroni noodles(about 1/2 cup per person)
- Italian sausage (one 4 oz link per person)
- parmesan cheese (optional)
- salt & pepper to taste
Method
Step 1
First, brown the ground beef in the instant pot on saute mode until it’s no longer pink.
Drain fat and then add instant pot pasta sauce into the instant pot with ground beef. Add seasonings if you like (I use salt and pepper).
Step 2
Close instant pot lid on sealing mode. Set instant pot to manual high pressure for around eight minutes or until noodles are al dente.
If you’re not sure what that means, check the box of instant macaroni normally labeled as “al dente.”
Step 3
It should be cooked through but still firm. You can check if instant pot ground beef is cooked by cutting it into smaller pieces.
Once the instant pot goes off, quickly release the pressure and then open the instant pot lid on venting mode (to be safe).
Step 4
Add instant macaroni noodles to the ground beef mixture in the instant pot. Stir everything together so that pasta sauce coats every noodle evenly.
Taste instant pot ground beef mixture to see if it needs more salt and pepper.
Step 5
If you like, add instant pot Italian sausage in with pasta sauce and instant macaroni noodles or just top instant pot baked ziti off with some freshly grated parmesan cheese before serving.
