Cheese Ramekin

These bite sized small puff pastry appetizers are so cheesy and delicious that once you have tried them it is almost impossible to stop yourself from eating. Serve at room temperature or right out of the oven.


2 cups shredded gruyere cheese
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 package frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 tbsp flour
1 pinch ground nutmeg
⅛ tsp ground black pepper


Makes: 24


1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

2. On a floured and flat surface, roll out the pastry until it is ¼ inches thick.

3. Cut it into 3-inch squares.

4. Make pastry cups by pressing the squares into the cups of twelve cup muffin tins.

5. Whisk the eggs, flour, milk, nutmeg and pepper.

6. Add the cheese and mix to combine them well.

7. Distribute the egg mixture evenly amongst the cups.

8. Bake for about 15 minutes.

9. The filling should be puffed up.

10. Let them cool a few minutes, so it’s safe to remove them and serve.
