Classic Egg Flower Soup

This is yet another traditional dish that you will find commonly in Chinese cuisine. It is both extremely easy to make and incredibly delicious.


2 cups of chicken broth
Pinch of white pepper to taste
About 2 tsp. of sesame oil
1 egg, large in size and beaten
2 tbsp. of peas
1 green onion, finely chopped


Preparation time: 20 minutes
Serves: 4


Bring your first three ingredients to a nice rolling boil in a medium to large sized saucepan.

While you are slowly stirring in one direction to help give your soup a little current, pour your beaten egg into the soup in a slow stream. The egg will cook itself the moment it touches the soup.

Then stir in your peas and continue stirring slowly to combine all of your ingredients. Ladle your soup into a few serving bowls. Garnish with your green onions and serve.
