Crunchy Corn And Chile Won Tons


1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
cup corn kernels
3 green onions, thinly sliced
1 (4-ounce) can chopped green chiles
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
teaspoon salt
1 (16-ounce) package won ton wrappers (about 48)
vegetable oil for frying


Makes: 48


Combine the cheese, corn, green onions, green chiles, cilantro and salt in a bowl and mix well. Spoon 1 teaspoon of the mixture onto the center of each won ton wrapper. Wrap the wrapper around the filling. Moisten the edges with water and press to seal. Heat oil to 360 degrees in a deep heavy skillet. Fry the won tons in the hot oil for 5 minutes or until brown.
