Spinach And Cheese Calzones

1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
6 ounces Canadian bacon or ham, chopped
cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon garlic powder
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
15 ounces ricotta cheese
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
cup (1 ounce) grated Parmesan cheese
1 (16-ounce) loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
Olive oil
1 (26-ounce) jar tomato pasta sauce

Serves: 8

Squeeze the excess moisture from the spinach. Cook the spinach, Canadian bacon, onion, garlic powder and salt in a skillet over medium-high heat until the bacon is brown, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat and stir in the Italian seasoning and cheeses and mix well.

Divide the bread dough into 8 portions. Roll each portion into a 6-inch circle on a lightly floured surface. Spoon ½ cup of the spinach mixture onto the center of each dough circle. Moisten the edges of the dough with water. Fold the dough over the filling, pressing the edges to seal. Arrange the calzones on a greased baking sheet. Brush the tops with olive oil. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with the pasta sauce for dipping.
