Tolhouse Baked Beans

2 x 1 lb. 2 oz. cans baked beans (New England style)
1 lb. can (solid pack) tomatoes
4 oz. bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 oz. ( cup) onion, chopped
1 tablespoons (2 tablespoons) black treacle (molasses)
oz. (1 tablespoon) sugar
2 teaspoons dry mustard
Cooked onion rings, to garnish


Serves: 8


Pour the beans into a 2 quart heat resistant casserole. Combine the tomatoes with the remaining ingredients, stir into the beans.

Cover and cook on HIGH for 10 minutes, stirring after 5 minutes. Leave to stand for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with onion rings.
