Cawl Bara Lawr
[Laver Soup]


175 gm/6 oz Laver bread
175 gm/6 oz butter
225 gm/8 oz onions, chopped
225 gm/8 oz potatoes, chopped
100 gm/4 oz carrots, chopped
2 litre/4 pt mutton or fish stock
Salt and pepper
Caster sugar


Melt the butter and saute the vegetables until slightly brown. Add the laver bread and stock. Simmer for 20 minutes. Sieve or liquidise the soup. Add seasonings and sugar. Reheat and serve.
