Baked Fillet Of Beef

4 pieces eye fillet
40 g butter
3 onions, peeled and sliced
200 g mushrooms
2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
cup tomato puree mixed with 3 tablespoons red wine
Flaky pastry
1 beaten egg


Serves: 4


1. Fry each piece of meat in butter until brown on both sides. Fry onions until brown. Add mushrooms and fry until ready.

2. Place onion, mushroom on top of each piece of meat. Top with hardboiled eggs. Pour tomato puree mixture over.

3. Roll and divide pastry into 4 flat pieces. Cover each piece of meat with pastry. Brush with beaten egg. Place on a flat greased oven tray and bake in a hot oven, 220°C (425°F), for approximately 20 minutes.
